FourtyFours Posted Sunday at 11:35 PM Posted Sunday at 11:35 PM Your Name: Site Defence General D. Ambrose Link to Content: N/A. Suggestion: Make it prohibited to utilise RPGs in doors. Reason for addition/change?: It wouldn't make logical sense due to the back-blast and also the deafening sound of the explosive in doors would stun EVERYBODY. I think it'd be balanced for raids and stuff...But outdoors should be free game. Any pros/cons of the addition/change?: Raids more balanced, might piss people off. Quote
Odysseus Posted Monday at 05:29 AM Posted Monday at 05:29 AM +1 Mainly in regards to the backblast, while it is Possible to launch a RPG in Doors it is highly dissuaded by even the creators of the weapon as anyone behind you will get hit due to hallways and anyone in front will get hit by shrapnel, expecially when used in close quarters I also feel like Grenades could be toned down on foundation side as well, those things get spammed... Odysseus Posted Monday at 05:34 AM Posted Monday at 05:34 AM Though if its an RPG it technically can do it, but that doesn't mean it should be done to make gunplay more fun for all sides, No one likes turning a corner to get nigh point blanked by an RPG and having no chance of survival, For the Atlas players think of the China Lake hitting you directly or the RPG spam U11 used, it wasn't fun for either side (Well CI was strange on their opinion But still) at the end of the day and caused quite a ruckus. Kkolibri Posted Tuesday at 02:45 AM Posted Tuesday at 02:45 AM -1 I’ve been told multiple times the guns are not balanced on realism so I think the stuff talking about back last and using rpgs indoors is useless and I don’t think that one of our classes should be made almost obsolete cause people don’t like indoor rockets Quote
Acro Posted Tuesday at 03:58 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:58 AM -1, server is not currently geared for realism and such realistic interactions like this serve to make combat a bit more convoluted. If you really need to then the bases and rpgs themselves can change instead of their use cases Quote
FourtyFours Posted Tuesday at 06:00 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:00 AM This suggestion, while taking realism into account, isn’t the entire point. It isn’t really fun to fight a CI with an RPG due to the fact it’s basically an instant win for the CI in question. If guns need to be balanced, then they should be balanced but relying on one weapon that instantly kills people who can’t react to it (As it’s impossible due to the close quarters nature of it) isn’t fun. I think the RPG outdoors is fine, but indoors makes raids completely unfair. If guns aren’t balanced? Suggest the balance. Quote
dukewaffles Posted Wednesday at 02:57 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:57 AM +1 This seems really needed. Quote
Scopes Posted Wednesday at 04:35 AM Posted Wednesday at 04:35 AM Neutral I'm okay with this as long as CI gets explosive barrels on their weapons as well. Quote - Current Positions - - ISD Agent Matthew "Thor" Sky [ALIVE] - MTF Epilson-6 Specialist Scopes [ALIVE] - D-9341 Jack [ALIVE]
Boolerino Posted Wednesday at 05:02 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:02 AM -1 I think CI shouldn't be beholden to FO's regulations regarding explosives, we are a hostile GOI fighting asymmetrical warfare against a larger force. Backblast and noise are also invalid for reasoning in my opinion, because gunfire indoors is super concussive regardless. I'd suggest personally one of two things: 1. Remove the guideline on UBGLs for FO 2. If you are unwilling to remove it, amend it to allow explosives on GOI, even inside the site, usage still leaving the operator liable if there is collateral.
